Olivia Rodrigo Gets Festive With First Ever Holiday Single ‘take me home (4 christmas)’
Olivia Rodrigo has officially kicked off the festive season, releasing her first ever holiday single, ‘take me home (4 christmas)’.
The original track arrived on 5 November via Interscope Records. Olivia wrote the song alongside long-time collaborators Dan Nigro and Amy Allen, with Nigro also taking on production duties.
A music video full of familiar festive awkwardness
Alongside the single comes an official music video starring Olivia with Sex and the City icon Cynthia Nixon and Saturday Night Live‘s Ben Marshall.
The video captures the excitement, and the inevitable awkwardness, of going home for the holidays and meeting your partner’s family for the first time. It is a scenario plenty of fans will no doubt recognise as Christmas approaches.
For collectors, an exclusive 7-inch vinyl and cassette of the single are available now at oliviarodrigo.com, along with a full holiday collection of limited-edition gifts, collectibles, decorations and accessories.
Capping off a record-breaking year
The festive release follows hot on the heels of Olivia’s ‘expectations’ remix featuring Chappell Roan, which dropped in October. The remix quickly became the highest-peaking all-female collaboration on the Billboard Hot 100 this year, with Chappell putting her own spin on the original track.
The collaboration also sent Olivia’s critically acclaimed third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The record originally debuted at the top of the chart with 485,000 first-week units, making it 2026’s biggest solo debut, and went on to top the charts in 17 countries.
Olivia is currently on her sold-out The Unraveled Tour, which has sold more than one million tickets worldwide. The tour has added extra dates due to demand and broken several venue records along the way.
Over the summer, she also made history by launching her first women-led music festival, Daisy Chain Fields. Held at Great Park in Irvine, California on 29 August, the festival raised $20 million for 10 non-profit organisations dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls through the Daisy Chain Fields Fund.
One of the most influential artists of her generation
Olivia’s 6x Platinum debut album, SOUR, broke records as the fastest album in history to have every song certified RIAA Platinum or higher. Its follow-up, GUTS, also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, meaning her entire discography has opened at the top of the chart, with each album outselling the last.
To date, she has received 14 GRAMMY Award nominations and three wins, as well as seven Billboard Music Awards, a BRIT Award, a Juno and an NME Award.
Her GUTS World Tour featured 100 sold-out headline shows in 64 cities across more than 21 countries, and she became the second-youngest artist ever to headline Glastonbury.
With a brand new Christmas song now in the mix, Olivia looks set to close out 2026 in true festive style.
