Power metal like you’ve never heard before, PassCode is full of strength, passion, and energy in their awesome new music video for “GROUNDSWELL”. At the end of the video, the group reveal a huge announcement, that they will be going out on tour in the US for the first time ever – and not only that but it’s happening in a couple of months, in September 2023. The group most recently released a live album, titled “PassCode MEGA VEGAS 2023 at Kobe World Memorial Hall”.

PassCode is a Japanese metal idol group founded in 2013, originating from Osaka. The band comprises of the talented vocalists Nao Minami, Kaede Takashima, Emily Arima, and Hinako Ogami, who showcase their unique blend of metal-style arrangements with pop idol styling and dance moves. Their debut album “ZENITH”, released through Universal Music in 2016, exhibits a fusion of diverse musical genres that has garnered immense love and support from fans across Japan and beyond. From headlining major music festivals like Summer Sonic and Vans Japan Warped Tour to delivering a sold-out show at Nippon Budokan, PassCode’s electrifying performances have left an indelible mark on the global music scene. Signing with British record label JPU Records, they expanded their reach with the release of the best-of record “Ex Libris Passcode” in Europe. With accolades such as their song “Ichika Bachika” serving as the opening track for the film adaptation of Kakegurui’s second season, and their single “Starry Sky” topping the Japanese charts, PassCode’s meteoric rise continues. Their Spotify presence, with nearly 100,000 monthly listeners, is driven by hits like “Taking You Out” with 3.3 million streams and “Ray” with 2.8 million streams, solidifying PassCode’s status as a formidable force in the global metal and idol music landscape.

Watch the new music video for “GROUNDSWELL” by PassCode and watch for the trailer at the end for their US tour announcement:

Japanese metal at its finest, PassCode is ready to take the world by storm with their incredible screamo vocals mixed with the talented singing vocals. Mixing sweet with sour to create an awesome defining song that has us interested in what else PassCode has released, while also building up momentum and excitement for what’s next, this band effortlessly showcase why they’re the metal band that you should be watching, as global success is clearly just around the corner. The music video, which has been directed by Takaya Ohata from isai Inc. and Cyran VFX Production NANON CREATIVE, is a CGI-rendered visual taking place at an unmanned Shibuya scramble crossing, where all four members perform their track. Going all out, they complete subtle choreography that matches the hardcore rock that is coming from our speakers. The performance is merely a distraction as they hack into screens, cars, and even helicopters. This expands so much that the women create a whirlwind around them from the vehicles. The very end of the music video leads into an epic heart-racing announcement that PassCode will be going out on their first-ever US Tour, which they have named as their “PassCode US TOUR 2023 -GROUNDSWELL-“. Tickets are available to buy right now from Ticketmaster.
