Pixie Lott and McFly’s Danny Jones have been confirmed as coaches on ITV’s The Voice Kids UK. The pair will join the previously announced will.i.am, when the show kicks off next year.
Pixie is best known for her hits such as ‘Mama Do’, ‘Boys and Girls’, and ‘All About Tonight’, selling over four million singles and 1.6 million albums worldwide. She has also starred in Breakfast at Tiffany’s in London’s West End, receiving rave reviews from critics.
Of the news, Pixie said: “I can’t wait to join The Voice Kids and help discover the next big star. I have such a passion for talented young people and I know the UK will have lots – I can’t wait to hear them! I’m looking forward to getting started and working alongside my fellow coaches will.i.am and Danny Jones.”
Danny, one quarter of pop-rock band McFly, also joins the panel. With over twelve successful years in the music industry, racking up over 10 million record sales as well as seven UK number one singles, Danny certainly knows a thing or two about talent.
He said, “I’m pumped about joining The Voice Kids team. There are so many talented kids out there, they just need to be heard and this is a great platform for them. I’m looking forward to finding some fresh talent and coaching them. You never know, there might be a mini McFly out there!”
Will.i.am also shared his excitement, stating: “Doing The Voice Kids with Pixie and Danny is going to be dope and I’m really excited to discover just how talented British kids can be.”
The Voice Kids UK will begin on ITV in the New Year, and will be hosted by Emma Willis, with some V Room assistance from radio DJ and Cold Feet star Cel Spellman. The pair will also host the main series of The Voice UK, where will.i.am will coach alongside Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale.
