“Purpose” Sells One Million Copies

It’s been a musical year with albums released by some of the most popular artists including Justin Bieber, Adele, One Direction, Drake and many more. Chart toppers, million selling records and record breaking ticket sales, 2015 had it all.

This week Justin Bieber hit a huge milestone. Justin Bieber’s latest album “Purpose” became his fifth million-selling album in the U.S.

Billboard stated
“the set sold another 100,000 copies this week bringing its total sum in pure album sales to 1.01 million.”

Purpose, released this year, took only five weeks to reach a million selling record, his quickest trip so far. Under the Mistletoe, which took seven weeks to reach the mark, became his second album to surpass one million selling record. Bieber’s other million sellers are: Believe, My World 2.0 and My World.

“Purpose debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated Dec. 5, giving Bieber his sixth chart-topping album! It bowed with 649,000 equivalent album units and 522,000 in pure album sales, as reported by Billboard.

Purpose is the fourth studio album by Justin Bieber, released on November 13, 2015, by Def Jam Recordings and School Boy Records.
