2023 continues to be the year of RAYE, with the acclaimed British singer/songwriter today (October 16th) releasing her stunning new live album, ‘RAYE with The Heritage Orchestra – My 21st Century Symphony’.
Recorded live at the stars recent sold out show at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London, the sensational LP features reimagined versions of tracks included on the ‘Natalie Don’t’ singers debut album ‘My 21st Century Blues’ accompanied by The Heritage Orchestra, and the 30-piece youth gospel choir The Flames Collective.
Launched back in February of this year, ‘My 21st Century Blues’ saw RAYE recount her own painful experiences with sexual abuse, rape, body dysmorphia, addiction, misogyny, and even climate change, on a collection of songs that gave listeners who had faced similar adversity an outlet to express their own personal distress and sorrow.
Serving as the singers first independent release, the record reached no.2 on the Official UK Album chart, and was nominated for Best Independent Album at the AIM Independent Music Awards, and was one of only 12 albums selected as a finalist for the 2023 Mercury Music Prize.
RAYE is currently at no.3 in the Official UK Singles Chart with ‘Prada’ – a collaboration with Casso and D Block Europe, that sees the group deliver a fresh new take on the British hip-hop collectives 2020 hit single, ‘Ferrari Horses’.
