Remember Monday are setting the scene for their next chapter, announcing their debut album, ‘Can We Press Rewind?’, alongside the release of new single ‘Dream Cheat’.

    Remember Monday

Set for release on 29 January via So What? Recordings, the 12-track album finds the pop trio embracing their own creative identity, drawing on the highs, lows, questionable decisions and romantic disasters of modern dating. Described as a cinematic rom-com told through songs, ‘Can We Press Rewind?’ promises a collection of stories packed with the wit, personality and unapologetic humour that have become central to the group’s appeal.

Written and developed together, the record also marks a significant step forward in Remember Monday’s songwriting, reflecting three musicians increasingly confident in their creative instincts and ambitions. Rather than simply looking back, the album offers a snapshot of where the trio are heading next.

Leading the way is ‘Dream Cheat’, a playful new single built around a familiar relationship scenario: waking up furious with your partner after dreaming they’ve cheated on you. Turning jealousy, insecurity and an entirely imaginary betrayal into an irreverent pop anthem, the track finds Remember Monday exploring the irrational side of romance with their trademark sense of humour.

“To every partner who’s ever woken up to cold rage with no explanation: we’re sorry. We’re also not sorry! You know what you did! You didn’t do anything. Still though, go sleep on the couch tonight,” the band said of the track. “‘Dream Cheat’ is the soundtrack to every irrational 7am grudge – feel free to play it passive aggressively at your partner the next time they do something mean in your dreams.”

The accompanying music video brings the song’s premise to life with a cinematic prom-night nightmare. Set against the backdrop of a picture-perfect ’90s school prom, the visual follows a Prom Queen whose romantic evening takes a surreal turn when her dream boyfriend betrays her in front of a room full of guests. What begins as an idyllic celebration quickly descends into chaos, offering a first glimpse into the visual universe surrounding the forthcoming album.
