Review: Davis Mallory and LYRX cover ‘Too Good’

Whilst you may not have encountered them before, it’s certain you won’t forget LYRX and Davis Mallory after watching their fantastic cover of Drake and Rihanna’s ‘Too Good’.

Gabby Mooney, known professionally as LYRX, comes from a musical background with her brother part of the hit country duo Dan + Shay. Therefore it is no surprise that her voice is mesmerising and perfectly suited for the song.

Davis Mallory is a former MTV Real World star breaking into the musical scene. His voice carries the song perfectly with his own pop-hip hop style.

The combination of Davis’ remarkable voice paired with LYRX’s captivating style results in a brilliant, distinct cover unlike any other.

The video was filmed at the Nashville Film Institute and directed by New York cinematographer Derrick Lipschitz, whilst the audio is produced by Greg Graves of the band The Queen & King. Together the visual effect fits superbly with the music, evoking the emotions of the song perfectly.
