Sydnie Christmas continues to forge her own path with the announcement of her second studio album, ‘The Artist’, set for release October 2nd 2026 via Westway Music.
The singer-songwriter, theatre star and Britain’s Got Talent alumna follows her 2024 BGT victory and acclaimed West End turn as Cruella de Vil with what promises to be her most personal record yet. Arriving after her debut album ‘My Way’, ‘The Artist’ sees Christmas take greater creative control, with the singer co-writing all but one of the album’s tracks.
Described as a musical diary, the record draws on Christmas’ experiences across both the music and theatre industries, exploring the highs, lows and personal challenges that have shaped her career. The result, she says, is her most honest and authentic work to date.
Commenting on the project, Sydnie said via a press release: “Writing and releasing this album feels completely surreal. These songs are the most honest I’ve ever been, each one inspired by real moments that have shaped me – the highs, the heartbreaks, the lessons, the people I love and the times I questioned everything. Creating this record felt like opening my diary and sharing my heart with the world, and I’ve never felt so proud, excited and vulnerable all at once.”
“I hope these songs become whatever listeners need them to be. If they bring comfort, strength, courage or simply remind people that they’re not alone, then they’ve done exactly what they were meant to do. Writing this album helped me heal and I hope that, somewhere along the way, it helps others too. This is my heart, my story, my album and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The album’s next single, ‘Spirit’, will arrive September 18th. The track follows recent releases ‘Run’ and ‘Lean On You’, and finds Christmas reflecting on the fearless version of herself she knew as a child – before judgement, failure and concerns about other people’s opinions entered the picture.
Lyrically centred around the idea of rediscovering that childhood freedom, presenting innocence not as something to outgrow, but as a source of strength, the song ultimately celebrates the process of reconnecting with the part of yourself that existed before the world taught you to doubt it.
