Take That have confirmed that they will be releasing a special Greatest Hits album later this year, supported by a 2019 tour.

Speaking to Sarah-Jane Crawford backstage at Hits Radio Live at Manchester Arena on Saturday, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen revealed their 30th anniversary plans.

“It’s 30 years this year! We’re making a record, we’re always celebrating, we’ve been celebrating for 30 years!” Mark said.

Gary added, “We have a Greatest Hits coming out, a selection of all the songs. We have three new songs on there as well and next year we’re doing a big Greatest Hits tour so there’s lots on the go.”

If that wasn’t exciting enough for Take That’s loyal Thatters, earlier today Gary also took to Twitter to further tease the “exciting announcements coming from TTIII soon”. Expanding on their chat with Sarah-Jane, Gary revealed that the trio will be unveiling their “Greatest Hits with a twist” album this Winter, before embarking on a tour in 2019 which will feature “all the hits from the last 3 decades”.

There are some exciting announcements coming from TTIII soon. We’ve an extremely important release coming this Winter in the form of a Greatest Hits with a twist. Then in 2019 we will turn our recordings into a live show featuring all the hits from the last 3 decades. #TTIII pic.twitter.com/ZQFbaKQnZb

The news follows a busy weekend of gigs for Take That. On Saturday, they headlined Hits Radio Live in Manchester, whilst on Sunday they played an exclusive gig for Amazon Prime members in celebration of Unbox Prime Day.

With a gigantic discography to choose from, both the Greatest Hits album tracklist and tour setlist will be a beautiful trip down memory lane for every Thatter. We also couldn’t be more excited at the thought of another Take That tour. As music’s ultimate showmen, Gary, Howard and Mark are renowned for their spectacular stage shows and we have no doubt that they’ll be pulling out all the stops for their Greatest Hits tour.
