First came The Vampire Diaries, then The Originals and now, we are set to rejoin the vampire universe once again in a new spin-off based around Hope Mikaelson’s story.
Deadline recently reported the possible spin-off which is confirmed to be in development at the moment. Niklaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley Marshall-Kenner’s (Phoebe Tonkin) tribrid daughter, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), will front the show along with her (human) friend and love interest, Landon (Aria Shahghasemi), who we’ll meet in season five of The Originals. Other new members of the cast include Jenny Boyd, Kaylee Bryant, and Quincy Fouse.
It’s to be set at The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted back in Mystics Falls where we may see the return of some familiar faces including Matt Davis, who is expected to return in his role as Alaric Saltzman. There are plans to have occasional appearances from others throughout the series too – maybe a few visits from the Mikaelson family?
Unlike both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, if the as of yet untitled show is picked up, there won’t be a pilot. Instead, it will jump straight into the series.
Season five of The Originals returns to The CW April 20th at 9pm in the US and will be on Netflix UK at a later date.
