Tinie Tempah is back and he’s heading straight to the dance floor. The UK hitmaker has released ‘To The Floor (Vai Descendo)’, a high-energy collaboration with Afrojack that blends club music with Brazilian baile funk influences.
The track appears on ‘12AM’, the second instalment of Tempah’s upcoming fourth album, ‘The Night’s Not Dead’, due October 16th. Produced by Stargate alongside Afrojack and Tropkillaz, the high energy track brings together a formidable team of dance and electronic producers for a record built to please the late night masses.
“I’ve always loved travelling and discovering different sounds and cultures,” Tinie says. “Through doing Brazilian jiu-jitsu I was exposed to baile funk and the energy around that whole scene. It really stayed with me.”
The collaboration also has some history behind it. Tempah and Afrojack have known each other for more than 15 years, with the Dutch producer joining the track after hearing it while Norwegian record production and songwriting duo Stargate were working on it.
“When he was in the studio with Stargate, he overheard the track and FaceTimed me saying he wanted to jump on it,” the ‘Pass Out’ rapper recalls. “It just made sense.”
For Afrojack, the decision was equally straightforward. “The track had this incredible energy from the start,” he says. “I love that it brings together Tinie’s sound with dance and Brazilian influences. It’s simply made for the club.”
‘12AM’ is designed to soundtrack the point in a night when anticipation gives way to full-on release. Across four tracks, Tempah moves between the stomping two-step of ‘10 Minutes Later’, the main-room rush of ‘To The Floor’, soulful house on ‘Body 2 Body’ and warehouse-ready drum and bass on ‘Backstage’.
It follows ‘9PM’, the first chapter of ‘The Night’s Not Dead’, which explored the anticipation and excitement of the beginning of a night out. The final chapter, ‘3AM’, will turn towards the more intimate side of nightlife – from afterparty conversations to the unexpected moments that linger long after the music stops. The three chapters will eventually come together as the complete album, alongside additional tracks.
‘The Night’s Not Dead’ marks Tinie Tempah’s first full-length album since 2017’s ‘Youth’ and his first album in nine years. Rather than simply celebrating club culture, the project is framed around the human connection that happens when people gather in shared spaces to experience music together.
That message comes as the UK’s grassroots music infrastructure continues to face mounting pressure, with independent venues closing and communities losing spaces that have traditionally provided a starting point for emerging artists.
Tempah has partnered with Music Venue Trust and Save Our Scene as part of an effort to highlight the importance of protecting those spaces, with the campaign set to extend into a series of intimate live performances and underplays.
The rollout for the record has already translated into the live arena. Since ‘9PM’ arrived, ‘Heaven or Hell’ has become a highlight of Tempah’s festival sets at BST Hyde Park, Boardmasters and Electric Picnic, with footage of the crowd response generating more than half a million views online.
Tinie Tempah will take the project on the road later this year, beginning the ‘The Night’s Not Dead Tour’ in Stockholm on November 16th before arriving at London’s Roundhouse on December 3rd 2026. Tickets for all dates are available to purchase here.
With ‘To The Floor’, the next chapter of the album is less about easing into the night than surrendering to it.
