    Two more housemates booted out of Celebrity Big Brother

    Rachel Johnson and Maggie Oliver were the two casualties in tonight’s (January 19) Celebrity Big Brother double eviction whopper, making them the 2nd and 3rd evictees this series, behind India Willoughby who was the first out last week.

    Rachel Johnson, who was out first out, divided fans with her no nonsense approach and was at the centre of many confrontations in the house particularly with fellow nominee Ann Widdecombe. Some say this might have been a reason to keep her in as she was undoubtedly great TV but given that she had the least votes, she hadn’t won enough fans during her time on the show.

     

    Maggie Oliver was the next to go, and we couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness as her name was called up. On one hand, John Barnes is a legend and hasn’t had the opportunity to prove himself so we are glad he stayed, but Maggie was not a part of the original nominees and had only been up because of the Save & Replace task. Maggie seemed like a lovely woman and a pillar to many of the younger contestants in the Elstree compound. However, we as viewers hardly saw her onscreen and the lack of airtime she was recieving had even become a running joke on social media. It’s such a shame with an incredible backstory, we didn’t see or hear much from her but it’s a Catch 22.  How different are the housemates from what we the viewers see? We are only given an hour a day of condensed material so it’s the editing in fact that’s dictating our opinions, rather than reality.

     

    In the supposed ‘Year Of The Woman’, it seems ironic that the first three housemates out are women. This weekend will see the team compete in a Battle of Sexes, with the end result being a backdoor eviction. We will keep you updated!
