Indie-rock band Vodi are getting in the festive spirit with their original holiday track, ‘This Is The Best Christmas’.
The band, made up of Tom Lynch, Haley Lynch, David Lascoe, Austin Sepulvado, E. Marshall Graves, Tank Lisenbe and Gus Alvarado, unveiled the track today which has been accompanied by a sweet music video.
Shot by Jacob Miles, the video focuses on two lovebirds over the festive period. There’s plenty of fun to be had, from decorating the tree to making hot drinks. The video is a bit goofy, but showcases the band’s quirky personality perfectly. In terms of the track itself, with lyrics such as “Tell Santa Claus I don’t need him this year, cos what I wanted is already here”, it’s hard not to lose yourself in the adorable love song.
Speaking about the song in our recent interview, Vodi said: “Yeah, this was kind of out of nowhere and more fun than I thought it would’ve been. Our manager called us up and asked if we’d be up for doing a Christmas song to which we all immediately said absolutely. Our studio engineer only had 2 days available on his schedule, so we booked them, wrote it, went in and Christmas miracled our way through it. While I think everyone in the band maintains that Santa was our inspiration, it’s a love song. We sort of asked ourselves, what would Hall and Oates do.”

2017 has been an exciting year for the Texan band, following the release of their debut LP, Talk. Their unique sound has made them one to watch within the indie-rock community and we’re excited to see what’s next for Vodi.
