With the news breaking this morning that Nick Grimshaw has quit as a judge on the UK version of the X Factor, its got us thinking who the new panel will be when the next series of the talent show kicks off later this year.
Now Nick has left and with constant rumours that Rita Ora will be leaving the panel, there seems to be two open seats on the judging table.
Both Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini are expected back and there is at least one judging spot open, so who will Simon hire to sit alongside him and Cheryl?.
Wouldn’t it be great if the show shook things up by adding both younger and older talent from across the pond?.
It would be wonderful if the X Factor brought in Canadian superstar Shania Twain and American star Selena Gomez.
Both women offer something different and would add a great dynamic to the show.
Shania has a hugely successful career spanning over twenty years, with multiple Grammy awards under her belt and the title of the most successful female country singer of all time. The 50-year-old would also bring some much needed experience to the table.
Twain was also a guest judge on the 2010 series of American Idol so has judging experience and a history with Simon Cowell.
While Selena Gomez is young, talented and knows exactly what it takes to become a worldwide success in today’s world.
Gomez would be able to offer much need guidance to the contestants about how to cope with being a young person living your life in the spotlight.
So add, Shania Twain and Selena Gomez along with the record industry expertise of Simon Cowell and the guidance and experience of Cheryl, knowing both what it takes to become a successful solo artist and in a record breaking group. X Factor would have an unbeatable panel of formidable judges.
All the judges would bring in different viewers and allow for a greater pool of talent to audition.
And all four judges would have great chemistry, as Simon got on well with Shania while on American Idol, Simon is best friends with Cheryl, Selena loves Cheryl, Cheryl is a fan of Selena, and Shania loves all different types of music and is a strong woman who shares the same down to earth personality and beliefs with both, Cheryl and Selena.
And Cheryl and Shania have a history of sorts, during her time on Popstars The Rivals, Cheryl sang Twain’s hit song ‘You’re Still The One’.
