The UK has a long history of producing era-defining girl groups — and now, a new contender is ready to take the mic. Meet XO, an uber talented, force-of-nature five-piece, who are already turning heads with the release of their debut single, ‘Lovesick’.
Blending sharp pop melodies with a fresh, modern edge, the girls are intent on carving their own space in today’s landscape. Their unapologetic energy nods to the greats of British pop while pushing forward with a sound and style that feels entirely their own. ‘Love Sick’ captures that ethos perfectly: playful yet self-aware, catchy but grounded in the realities of what it’s really like to be a young person growing up in the digital age.
Written alongside alt-pop stars Willow Kayne, GRACEY and produced by Gil Lewis, the infectious track delivers as more of a mission statement than an tepid intro — it’s innovative, relatable, effortlessly catchy, full of attitude, and impossible not to love… just like the girls themselves!
Marrying sleek synths, punchy hooks and personality-packed vocals, the group choose to shy away from cliches, instead penning lyrics that offer fans something a little more real, imperfect and unapologetic, as they contemplate the complexities of unexpectedly catching feelings — and then catching the night-bus — on a big night out.

Hailing from Essex, London, Liverpool, Derbyshire and Hong Kong, XO are Emmy, Reanna, Shali, Summer and Zoe, a.k.a. your new favourite girl gang!
Despite only forming back in the autumn of 2024, the group have quickly amassed an ardent following of loyal fans, each of whom find themselves falling in love with the girls fierce style, fearless attitudes, and stance on all things friendship, sisterhood, and Girl Power.
In recent weeks, XO unveiled a candid fly-on-the-wall visual for their DIY cut ‘Ponytail’ — a standout from their grassroots schools tour, where the group cut their teeth performing to crowds up and down the country. Now, with ‘Lovesick’ marking their official debut, the band’s ambitions reflect both individuality and unity. “To set the tone,” says Summer, intent on staying present. Zoe, on the other hand, doesn’t hesitate: “World domination.” And honestly? We wouldn’t bet against them. XO feel every inch the next great British girl group — the one we’ve all been waiting for.
