What else should I know about Francesco Gabbani?

Francesco started his music career back in 2009 when he featured on Mira Leon’s single called ‘Filodoro’. Two years later he went on to release two singles called ‘Estate’ and ‘Maledetto amore’. As well as this, he released a further two singles in 2013 before his debut album Greitist Iz was released in 2014. Francesco then went on to sign a deal with BMG Rights Management. He has also released a second album called Eternamente ora which peaked at number fourteen on the Italian charts.

Furthermore, he competed in the newcomers section at Sanremo Music Festival in 2016, winning the competition with his song ‘Amen’ which has been certified platinum. It has also received a Mia Martini critics award.

In addition to this, Francesco won the ‘Big Artists’ section of Sanremo Music Festival this year and accepted the offer to represent Italy at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. He will be heading off to Kyiv in May to perform his song ‘Occidentali’s Karma’. The song has already reached number one in the Italian charts. His third studio album Magellano is set to be released later this month and Francesco will be touring Italy later in the year to promote this.
