Norma John are a duo consisting of vocalist Leena Tirronen and pianist Lasse Piirainen. The duo are friends and have been writing music together for fifteen years.
As well as this, they recently entered Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2017 (Finland’s national selection to find a representative for Eurovision). They competed alongside nine other contestants, and performed their song ‘Blackbird’. ‘Blackbird’ was written by Leena and Lasse and has reached number ten in Finland’s Download chart since its release.
The final of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2017 was held in January 2017 and the duo won both the jury and public vote, therefore winning the contest. They will be representing Finland at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv later this month.
