Who
Jeon Jungkook is the youngest member of the South Korean pop band “BTS” aka “Bangtan Boys”.The band debuted in the year 2013 when Jungkook was merely 16 years old. Since then, this young ‘maknae’ has acquired a huge fan following and deservedly so.
Due to their passionate fans, the band became popular quite instantaneously in South Korea. But the members wanted to spread their music and love to people all over the world. This happened when they started interacting with the International fans and posting songs they could relate to.
Jeon Jungkook garnered a lot of attention for his covers. His cover of Tori Kelly’s “Paper Hearts” has got more than a million views. He has covered songs from singers like Justin Bieber, Adam Levine and many others. Recently, he did a cover of Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore” which instantly went viral and after which even Puth followed the group on Twitter.
Why
Jeon Jungkook is a live example of wonders hard work can do. He does dance covers, song covers, live performances and what not and that too with diligence and perfection. Once Jimin, Jungkook’s bandmate role played as an old woman and asked Jungkook to take his sleep on time as he was concerned that he works “too” hard.
During their live performance of Born Singer, fans saw that Jungkook has suddenly started crying. Tears rolling down his eyes, Jungkook directed his mic towards the audience and asked them to sing on his behalf. Later it was revealed that he was not at all happy with his performance. Unable to gather strength to continue, he started crying on stage. He was disappointed in himself.
Jungkook’s passion for his work is truly inspiring. When the band members were asked to choose a quote for themselves, Jungkook chose “Living without passion is like being dead”.
Usually, maknae becomes a set type who are popularized as “cute” to draw audience’s attention. Jungkook has done everything to disrupt this notion. He might be cute but he has shown people that he has some serious business in the industry which does not necessarily relies on his face.
Jungkook highly respects his fans and bandmates. His song Begin from “Wings” talks about his love for his hyungs (that what seniors are called in Korea). He has often said in his interviews that it’s hard for him to see his bandmates struggle. Even though they all are older than him, Jungkook loves to spend time with them.
The same goes for fans. In “Letter To ARMY” series, Jungkook got really emotional as he was quite overwhelmed with fans’ positive response towards the band. He said that he wants to be good as a singer but he also wants to grow in a way that can help him make eye contact with his fans and help him recognize that he is with the ARMY.
He has a passion for being the best and a heart that tries to express the love and kindness he has for people. This is what makes him stand out.
Heart Eyes
They say,
Actions prove who someone is, words prove who they wants to be
If one sees the press conferences BTS do, he does not seem to be too interactive. Sitting in the corner, he speaks the least and observes the most. It’s not that he does not interact with his fans. When it comes to fan meetings, he is a cheerful being who is both excited and overwhelmed by the love he receives. He has a comfort zone and he finds it with his mates and fans.
If Jungkook does not speak much, it’s because he doesn’t need to. He is not a man of words. Instead, he is a man of actions. The fierceness and power of his personality become visible during his performances. Here are some of the best performances by Jungkook:
