John Mayer has been fairly hush-hush when it comes to new music, but fans now have a reason to speculate that we are about to discover what the 38-year-old has been cooking up in the studio.
On Thursday morning, the musician took to his social media pages to share a cryptic image with the title, “Love On The Weekend.” Following the unfamiliar words is the date, “11.17.” With such a post, we can’t help but assume we’re only a week away from hearing Mayer’s latest work.
Last month, the name of the “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer’s upcoming album was accidentally revealed to Entertainment Tonight. Drummer of the John Mayer Trio, Steve Jordan couldn’t contain his excitement at the 5th Annual Jazz Foundation of America Gala.
“The last time when we first came together for tsunami relief we were starting the Continuum album, and so now we’re doing this relief and it’s in the middle of, or finishing John’s newest album, The Search for Everything.” Full of laughter, Mayer responded with, “Actually that’s the first time… Steve has announced the record now twice; the name of the record twice, and I have not told anybody.” Oops!
The Search for Everything will be Mayer’s first album since 2013’s Paradise Valley. He spent the last year touring with Dead and Company, trading lyrical versus with music legend, Bob Weir.
