Subway rides can be boring and exhausting, especially if you live in such a busy city like New York. However, Miley Cyrus and Jimmy Fallon recently went undercover and surprised NYC subway riders with a special performance.
During The Tonight Show segment, the duo put cowboy hats, wigs and sunglasses on and hit Manhattan’s 47-50th Street subway station under Rockefeller Center.
“I’m here at the 50th Street subway station right below Rockefeller Center, and Miley Cyrus and I are about to go onto the subway platform and start busking in disguise,”
Said Fallon before busting into Dolly Parton’s 1973 classic “Jolene”.
Despite the disguises, the duo didn’t fool anyone. Miley’s voice was instantly recognizable and commuters started cheering, filming and singing along.
After the song ended, Cyrus and Fallon ripped off their wigs, hats and revealed their identities.
“Thank you very much. I am Jimmy Fallon. This is Miley Cyrus. We’ll do one more song for you!”
Fallon told the crowd as Cyrus went on to joke that it was her ‘first time at the subway station” before launching into her 2009 hit “Party in the U.S.A.”.
Elsewhere on the show, the singer performed her latest tracks, “Malibu” and “Inspired” as well as an Ed Sheeran’s cover ‘Shape of You’ with the help of Google Translate.
