Nick Grimshaw has announced that he won’t be returning to judge on The X Factor this year. The news was shared on his early morning breakfast show on Radio 1 this morning, where he confirmed that he quit and was not fired.
He expressed: “I did love it and it’s not a diss to the show. It’s a great show and I loved it. But it’s definitely a once in a lifetime style thing.”
There are rumours that Caroline Flack also might not return, but there’s been no talk about who might replace Nick Grimshaw on the judging panel just yet.
Earlier this year there was speculation that ITV had dropped The X Factor for 2017, but The X Factor bosses were quick to kill those rumours, saying that The X Factor would carry on long after 2017.
The X Factor returns to our television screens later this year.
