The iHeart Radio Music Awards were celebrated in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 14th for their 6th year. The fan-voted awards were hosted by T-Pain and filled with many performances and memorable moments.
Here is a recap of what you might have missed.
The red carpet is always one of the best parts of any award show. Tonight was no different.
Before Taylor Swift even stepped onto the red carpet, she posted a photo in a technicolor dream outfit and butterfly shoes. She was back after posting many cryptic photos on social media and looked as happy as ever.
With pink tipped hair and a smile on her face, Swift high fived and took selfies with fans throughout the night.
Kacey Musgraves wore a cute ruffled dress that gave us butterflies
Katy Perry revealed on the red carpet that she would be “open, open, open” to a collab with Taylor Swift.
Maren Morris looked stunning on the red carpet.
Halsey, Yungblud, and Travis Barker opened the awards with an incredible performance.
5 Seconds of Summer won the award for Best Duo/Group.
Cardi B took home Hip-Hop Artist of the Year and delivered a speech to remember
Kacey Musgraves delivered a powerful performance of her hit “Rainbow” with Coldplay’s Chris Martin. She also took home the award for Best Cover Song with Harry Styles for “You’re Still the One.”
Alicia Keys was honored with the Innovator Award and gave a moving speech.
Taylor Swift took home two awards last night- Tour of the Year for her record-breaking reputation Stadium Tour and Best Music Video for “Delicate.” Her moving speech for Tour of the Year teased that when she does release new music, the fans will be the first two know.”
If you are a Swiftie, you may want to grab some tissues because the queen of speeches will have you filled with so much emotion.
With 11 wins, Swift is the most awarded artist in iHeart history!
Even though not in attendance, Ariana Grande won the night taking home the highly coveted Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year for “Sweetener,” and Female Artist of the Year. About to embark on her world tour, Grande performed “Needy” for the first time, virtually.
BTS took home the award for Best Fan Army. The BTS Army did THAT!
The Backstreet Boys took to the stage to perform their new hit, “No Place” and the favorite “I Want It That Way.,” proving that boy bands can still rock it 25 years later.
Garth Brooks was honored with the Artist of the Decade award and performed a handful of his hits after being presented with the award from Chris Pratt.
Halsey took home the LOREAL Paris Fangirls Award and inspired everyone to never stop being a fangirl, or boy, or person.
“The Middle” (Zedd, Maren Morris, Grey) took home multiple awards, including Song of the Year and Dance Song of the Year. Their speech got cut off at the end of the show.
It was a fun night filled with music, inspiring speeches, and fashion. The one thing that was missing was announcing each nominee in the category. Everyone deserves that recognition, not just the winner.
