On December 9th fans of One Direction were greeted with the tragic news that Louis Tomlinson’s mother Johannah Deakin passed away on the 7th of December. Johannah was a mother to the fandom, not just to Louis and her own children, and the loss of her bright light was immediately felt by everyone who knew her. Within days of her untimely passing, Louis debuted his first solo single ‘Just Hold On’ with Steve Aoki on The X Factor with tears in his eyes and strength in his voice.
He also had strength in the form of Harry, Niall, and Liam backstage in his dressing room. The boys reunited under sad circumstances but it wasn’t the band getting together; it was four best friends who have become integral parts of each other’s lives bringing love and support to one another.
Fans were also showing their support online for Louis in the days since his mother’s passing in the form of their own tweets and circulating tweets from his mother online. There were emotional ones, funny ones, and proud ones that presented a glimpse into her heart and just how much of it belonged to Louis, her first baby and best friend.
In keeping up with our 25 Days of One Direction, we wanted to also honor Johannah and Louis, so we decided to put together a list of some of our favorite tweets from, the now angel in heaven, to her beautiful son. There’s never been a more proud mother or a luckier son than Johannah and Louis; the pair were meant to belong to one another and they will, for all time. These tweets are just small reminders of the joy Louis brought to his mom, and they brought a smile to our faces – as well as tears to our eyes.
