On December 30, 1989, Taylor Alison Swift was born and the world had no idea an icon came into the world. Today, that little girl turns thirty years old.
It is hard to believe Swift is 30 because we’ve been with her for most of her career and life. We were just listening to “Fifteen” and “22” yesterday.
Swift has been there for many people without ever meeting them. Through her music, determination, kindness, talent, and so many other things.
She gets a lot of hate and criticism and her 30th birthday is the best time to put a positive spotlight on her.
Here are 30 reasons, although there are a lot more, in no particular order, why we love Taylor Swift.
#1. She is unapologetically herself
Swift loves having fun and being goofy and fans can see that. She is always herself and doesn’t care when she makes weird faces or fangirls over another celebrity or does whatever she is doing above.
#2. She is obsessed with cats
Taylor has three cats: Dr. Meredith Grey, Detective Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button. She has appeared in numerous ads surrounded by cats and even asked their opinions if she should release her song, “Christmas Tree Farm.” On December 20th, Swift will star in the movie adaptation of “CATS” and have her dream of being a cat come true.
#3. She dances likes no one is watching
If she is at an award show, you can almost guarantee she is standing up supporting every artist, dancing like no one is watching and having the time of her life.
#4. Swift never go out of Style
Whether it is dressing like a disco ball at the AMA’s, or wearing her own merch in NYC, or taking us back to the 60s with retro style clothes, Swift is always fashionable. Recently, she has been rocking the pantsuit look because if she was a man, then she’d be The Man.
#5. Her lyrics and songs resonate so much and are iconic
Since 2006, fans have been listening to her songs and relating to them on a personal level or dancing along to them or showing them to their friends and they have become some of the biggest songs of the 2000s and 2010s. From “Our Song” to “I Knew You Were Trouble” to “Lover,” people from all over the world have been belting out her songs for years and will continue to do so for a lifetime to come.

If you’ve seen her live, you know Swift has a vocal range that will knock your socks off. Many people criticize her for her voice, but she has one of the best in the business.
#9. She teaches us that you are responsible for what you do in life not anyone else
Never let anyone take credit for your accomplishments in your life. You know what you’ve done and what you haven’t and those who love you know that too.
#10. She taught us to shake off the haters
Swift has been one to speak up against the haters because, unfortunately, she has had a fair share in her life. She knows who is there for her and who always will be and ignores those who put her down.

Being one of the biggest pop stars in the world, it is great to see that Swift is so family-oriented. She brings them to award shows, talks about them a lot, and is even putting a full-blown tour on hold because of her mother’s health. Just listen to the songs “The Best Day,” “Never Grow Up,” and “Soon You’ll Get Better (featuring the Dixie Chicks),” and you’ll know how much her family means to her.

She’s gone through many struggles in her life and career and the fans have always been the unforeseeable factor in her life. They are the ones who help her break records, sell-out tours, buy albums, and help her career get to where it is today.

I guess growing up on a Christmas tree farm really makes you love Christmas. Plus her birthday is in December so she probably has a lot of memories around Christmas.

Swift plays the banjo, the ukelele, the piano, the guitar, and probably more we don’t know about. Playing an instrument is hard and to be able to play multiple takes talent.

Most people are afraid to wear red lipstick because it’s dark, bold, and not given a good rep, but Taylor pulls it off. The trend of wearing red lipstick has skyrocketed since she has worn it.

If you weren’t a huge fan of her and didn’t follow social media, you would probably guess she is 24 or 25. Realizing that she is 30 is crazy.

How many singers do you know switch musical genres completely and are accepted and successful afterwards? Not many. Swift went from full country girl to mega-hit pop star overnight and is one of the biggest names in music.
