The 33 is the latest addition to the real life, survival strategy movies being released in the 2016. This movie has an interesting plot, a plot which decides the fate of many land miners in Chile. It is interesting to note the disastrous consequences when one chooses to ignore nature’s signals to a disaster. It is a story of survival for a dozen odd miners who were trapped in the mines of Chile for over two months without proper aid and sanitary conditions. The 33 is a heart-warming story of how these miners were rescued from their cursed fate.
It is hard to imagine a condition when one is trapped inside a claustrophobic space with 33 men. There are no proper communication instruments. The food ration is not sufficient for 33 men. The only route for escaping this hell is blocked. For a common man, this condition is equivalent to living in hell with a doomed fate. But these 33 men did not give up and struggled till they could at least ask for help. But did help come in time? Were all of them rescued? Could they survive the living hell and yet maintain their sanity in the end? These are questions that need to be answered by the end of this movie.
Starring Antonio Banderas, who plays the role of Mario Sepulveda, the face representing the poor state of the miners; in the lead role; this movie is a sure one to watch out for this year. The role of a leader in such drastic conditions is the toughest. He has to keep his sanity and cool and even emotionally and mentally support the others. Banderas has impressed his audiences for decades, thus it is quite natural to have high hopes for him for his latest release.
