When One Direction started off there were five doe eyed young men who were about to go on a life changing journey! We watched Louis, Harry, Liam, Niall, and Zayn experience things most of us will only ever dream of. Over the years we saw the way life changed them; we watched them struggle, we watched them fall, but more than any of that we watched them rise and stand strong in places where most people would find themselves broken.
When Zayn left One Direction in March of 2015; Niall, Liam, Harry, and Louis had a choice to make – they could have called it quits, they could have walked away, it all could have been over there, but during interviews they all said one thing. Zayn’s departure showed them all how much they truly loved doing this, together.
Here are 5 times we believe that Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall showed the world how important they are to each other during 2015 and how much it solidified to fans that this is truly, not the end.
5. This lovely on stage mini huddle
This concert was one that was hard on fans and the boys both, but they made the best of the circumstances and this moment stands out to fans as a big one!
4. This group birthday hug
Look at the joy on Louis’ face, this was one of our favorite on stage hugs! They truly love each other so much.
3. This silly song with Capital FM
The boys were laughing, the fans were cracking up, and the entire point of the song was something that poked fun at a few things about Louis, Liam, Niall, and Harry which brought comedic relief to the boys and the fans!
2. When they played dodgeball with James Corden
This locker room moment was definitely a lovely part of the dodgeball segment. That had to be one of the most fun things One Direction have done on a television show to date.
1. Their X-Factor Hug
In possibly their most lovely hug to date; Louis grabs Liam and Harry and pulls them in close (Harry reaches for Niall too) for a really sweet and emotional embrace on The X-Factor stage. We still can’t look at this gif without tearing up. It’s a lovely sentiment to see the boys openly care about each other so much and their emotionally charged goodbye hug was absolutely a staple to the completion of their first chapter and the start of something incredible in their own lives before they come back later; recharged, revamped, and better than ever.
We could have gone on for days about how strong the bond is between OT4 and how incredible their bond is to the fans too; but at the end of the day – the way the boys show their sense of love and care for one another is the best thing about One Direction. It’s definitely easy to notice.
