This week marks CelebMix’s fifth birthday so we’ve decided to celebrate by dedicating articles to some of our favourite celebrities. This one is all about Lizzo and her music videos!
Lizzo is the queen of bops, and her music video perfectly showcase her as the confident and self-loving badass woman that we know and love. Her visuals always leave us feeling empowered so we’ve decided to share five of our favourites with you!
‘Truth Hurts’
Lizzo is 100% that bitch and she proves it in this amazing video for ‘Truth Hurts’. We join the songstress at her fictional wedding which ends up with everyone getting lit at the after party. Where was our invite?
‘Juice’
The video for ‘Juice’ is SO MUCH FUN! Featuring the songstress in a number of different scenarios including hosting an 80s style workout, appearing on a late-night talk show and selling products on a shopping channel, there’s no doubt that she is looking like the whole damn meal throughout. We have so much love for this amazing woman!
‘Good As Hell’
Whilst the original music for ‘Good As Hell’ fits the track perfectly as it features Lizzo and her girl gang getting their hair and nails done in a salon, we can’t help but love the alternative and official music video for the track. The video sees the star join in with the marching band and the dancers from Southern University, the Baton Rouge HBCU. The video is so much fun and particularly poignant as Lizzo herself played the flute when she was in University. It definitely has the feel-good factor and you’ll definitely want to bop along with Lizzo and co after watching it.
‘Scuse Me’
‘Scuse Me’ is one of the many videos from Lizzo which aims to empower women and we are totally here for it. The video begins in a church before we see the singer and her friends looking like goddesses in a dreamy setting. With a crown on her head, there’s no doubt that she is an actual queen – we salute ya, Lizzo.
‘Tempo’
Directed by Andy Hines, the video for ‘Tempo’ sees Lizzo living her best life as she parties in a diner parking lot surrounded by dancers and cars. Packed with her trademark carefree attitude, Lizzo and her girls twerk the night away whilst Missy Elliott also makes an appearance to perform her rap verse.
