After releasing their new album Youngblood (June 2018), the Australian pop-rock band, 5 Seconds of Summer, are back on the road!
The boys kicked off their North American Meet You There tour on August 27th at RBC Echo Beach in Toronto. After plenty of hours of camping in line to get a front row spot at the show, the Toronto 5SOS Fam were ecstatic to finally reunite with band members Luke Hemmings (guitar), Michael Clifford (guitar), Calum Hood (bass and keys), and Ashton Irwin (drums).

Part of the reason why 5 Seconds of Summer has attracted numerous fans throughout the years is because of their ability to create versatile music. They know how to infuse old school with new school, and the pop-rock band bring such rawness and authenticity to the stage with their breathtaking four-part harmonies and each band member’s capability to play various instruments.
The band’s setlist has the perfect mix of songs for both their new fans and their old fans. It consists of many songs off Youngblood plus a sprinkle of throwbacks from their earlier albums, such as ‘The Only Reason’ and ‘Amnesia’.
They opened up the concert with ‘Babylon’ which is the perfect powerful and edgy track to warm up the crowd. Once the crowd’s energy is stirring, the boys slow it down and take the audience on an emotional rollercoaster as they sing five of their most heart-wrenching songs back to back.

After the fans have spent almost 15 minutes shedding tears, 5SOS continues to enthral them with a jam-packed performance of ‘Meet You There’. As he shreds his guitar, Michael Clifford jumps into the crowd, bringing an undeniable amount of hysteria and excitement to the show.

The band finishes off the concert with their latest single ‘Youngblood’, where the pounding beat of the drums gives the crowd a flush of adrenaline. Even after they take their final bows, throw their last guitar picks to their dedicated fans, and exit the stage, you can still hear the buzzing sound from their electric guitars. An impactful ending to a fantastic show.
