5 Seconds of Summer Release “Lie To Me” Featuring Julia Michaels

When we first heard “Lie To Me” on Youngblood, we thought we couldn’t get any deeper into our feelings. That was before 5 Seconds of Summer released a version of the song featuring Julia Michaels.

“Lie To Me” was a standout track for many listeners on Youngblood, and this latest drop is the fourth recorded version of the song. In addition to appearing on the band’s third album, an acoustic version of “Lie To Me” was also released as a part of their Spotify Singles along with a cover of Post Malone’s “Stay”. Since the song was also a part of their setlist on the Meet You There Tour, their live piano rendition of the song was featured on Meet You There Tour Live.

5 Seconds of Summer have also hinted at a music video for “Lie To Me” on Twitter. In response to a fan asking about the possibility of the music video for the song being released, Ashton tweeted that it would be released when it becomes a single.

Julia Michaels adds something special to the song – her raspy, rich voice adds another dimension of emotion. It’s a voice that forces you to truly listen and feel while giving us another perspective of the story being told.

Will the music video drop sometime soon? Are we going to see the burning car from the cover art again? Who knows, we’ll just have this track on repeat until then.
