Little Mix may not be an official BRIT award winning act but what better way to celebrate the 2016 year than with a prestigious performance?
It’s beautiful indeed to see a girl group whose worked so hard since their formation four years ago getting a nod of recognition by receiving a nomination. But when you think about, they really do deserve every bit of credibility. From their singing prowess to dancing skills, to empowering lyricism, Little Mix are perhaps the most influential act of the 2010 decade.
Three U.K. number ones, one of the longest charting songs in the U.K. by a girl group (‘Black Magic’), 2 billboard records – Little Mix may be chart phenomenons but their more than just that. They are one this decades main representation of girl power, and the revival of girl groups everywhere.
Following the massive steps of the Spice Girls, Little Mix are continuing that fiery torch all the way to end – and the girls won’t give up without a strong fight.
The music industry and review critics may at times undermine female talent, but you cannot fault this girl group one bit. Try and they will shoot back with an instantaneous acapella that will blow your minds.
What’s wrong with girl groups succeeding? Why does the media love unnecessary drama between women? Why does constant negative bashing continue against groups like Little Mix? Do they not see talent? What is wrong with females succeeding? Is it all for show?
We may not have all the answers to these questions but one thing is for sure – females succeeding is absolutely beautiful. And seeing girl groups and women working together to create inspirational songs with inspirational messages proves how society still needs a little bit of shifting and change for the better.
There’s nothing wrong with empowering young males and females to not give up, to not let life pummel you to the ground – it all sounds rather cliche, but would you rather have a cliche, or people getting emotionally broken because of life’s daily hardships?
Little Mix songs have changed (even saved) many people’s lives around the world of all ages and just like any another act, deserve their share of respect. They may not be a boy band, a rock band and they may not be your cup of tea, but respect comes in a whole different other package.
Their BRIT award nomination and performance proves girl power is alive and well, but also proves that Little Mix are more than just a vocal girl group. They’re here to change the world step by step, and we’re fully behind them every step of the way.
A wise girl group once said:
“They can rip you, bring you down, down to their size, but they will never get to the heart you hold inside”
We salute you, Little Mix. Thank you for changing lives across the globe and thank you for continuing the GIRL POWER legacy.
