A look at some of Taron Egerton’s best roles

You may recognise the name from one of his limelight roles in Kingsman: The Secret Circle or Eddie the Eagle… To celebrate the release of action-packed Robin Hood, arriving in cinemas November 21, we’re taking a look at some of Taron Egerton’s best roles.

Eddie the Eagle (2016)

Egerton took on the role of bringing the notoriously tenacious British ski jumper to the big screen, and nailed it. The film tells the real story behind British athlete Michael “Eddie” Edwards as he tries to make it as Britain’s premier ski jumper. Under the guidance of Bronson Peary played by Hugh Jackman, Eddie’s resilience manages to take him all the way to a historic showing at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta.

Rocketman (2018)

It may not be out yet but everyone is excited for Taron Egerton to take on this iconic role. The upcoming biopic tells the uncensored story of Elton John’s career from the beginning, including a whole load of classic musical numbers, giving Taron a chance to show off his amazing voice.

Legend (2015)

Based on the legendary Kray twins of London, Tom Hardy isn’t the only star of this cockney classic. Taron Egerton plays the charismatic “Mad” Teddy Smith, part of Ronnie Kray’s gang and rumoured to be one of his lovers… as well as a complete psychopath. Using violence to get what they want, the Kray firm organise robberies and murders while running nightclubs, leading to their notorious status.

Kingsman: The Secret Circle (2014)

Perhaps one of Taron Egerton’s most memorable roles to date, he stars as the lovable ‘Eggsy’. Completely unaware that his late father was a member of a spy organisation, he is soon sought out by dapper agent Harry Hart (Colin Firth) and recruited to become a trainee for the secret service. A perfect mix of action and humour, Taron also stars in the sequel released last year.

Sing (2016)

Set in a world entirely inhabited by animals, a koala named Buster Moon, runs a theatre that has fallen on hard times. He has one final chance to restore his theatre to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition. One of these competitors includes Johnny (Taron Egerton) a young gorilla with a passion for singing.

Robin Hood (2018)

Taron Egerton stars as the most famous vigilante of them all, the fearless Robin of Loxley. Robin is a war-hardened Crusader who, along with commander (Jamie Foxx), mounts an action-packed revolt against the corrupt English monarchy.

Robin Hood is out in cinemas November 21.
