Being the charitable person that he is, Adam Lambert is treating others rather than himself for his upcoming 34th birthday (January 29.)
Partnering with the True Colors Fund (co-founded by Cyndi Lauper), Adam wants his fans to donate to the organization in order to end homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth, rather than giving gifts personally to him.
The True Colors Fund campaign states:
“In America, up to 40% of youth experiencing homelessness identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT), while just 7% of the general youth population identifies as LGBT. The discrepancy is overwhelming and it’s impossible to ignore.
Adam believes that no young person deserves to be homeless – let alone because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. For his birthday this year, the singer, songwriter, and current Queen frontman is asking fans to donate in support of the effort to end LGBT youth homelessness. Your support will enable the True Colors Fund to continue our work to not only end LGBT youth homelessness in America, but prevent young people from becoming homeless in the first place.
With your help, we can create a world in which all young people can be their true selves. Are you with us?”
This isn’t the first time Adam has managed to turn his birthday into something about others rather than himself. In the past, Adam has partnered up with organizations such as Charity Water in an attempt to raise over $1 million and bring thousands more people clean water.
This is Adam’s way of letting the fans do something that they know will please him while accomplishing a wonderful deed at the same time.
THANK YOU, Adam, for being such an amazing person and helping those in need. The world needs more of that.
Also, have a happy birthday!
Love,
