Curious to know the “low-key most exciting thing” that has happened to Alessia Cara over the course of the last year? Well, that is no a brainer for the “Scars To Your Beautiful” hitmaker. Nothing brought her more bliss than being able to write a track for Rihanna’s Anti album.
Unfortunately, the song was excluded from RiRi’s Grammy-nominated record. However, that doesn’t stop Cara from still gushing over the surreal moment when she got to meet RIhanna.
“I didn’t take a picture with her. I just met her. And it was awesome,” the Canadian pop star shared with Juno TV. “It was to work on her album, which was crazy. So I just went in there, and was like, ‘Hi! Great to meet you. I love you!’ Then I just kinda did my thing and left.”
As for current contact, Cara does not even have Rihanna’s number. “It was a hi and bye,” she continued. “I went for the handshake and she went for the hug. She was so sweet. I love Rihanna. Like, I’m obsessed. Just meeting her was crazy and no one really knew about it. I didn’t even want to take a picture. Because this moment, I’m gonna have this in my brain.”
Fans quickly speculated that Cara was referring to being a part of Rihanna’s upcoming until the situation was later clarified on Twitter.
fyi: I was referring to ANTI, not the next album!! and she didn't end up using the song. https://t.co/s4J1BsFmN0

One fan wrote that it was RiRi’s loss for not using the singer’s original work, but Cara was quick to argue differently, responding with “Definitely not. that album is flames.”
The songstress took home the Juno Award for Pop Album of the Year on Sunday night, defeating Coleman Hell, Shawn Mendes, Marianas Trench and Tegan and Sara for the title.
