Following her immensely successful self-released debut single ’No Roots’, Alice Merton just released her debut album ’Mint’ through her own label ahead of her upcoming European tour.
On ‘Mint’, Alice proves that she is far from a one-hit wonder with fun, confident, and empowering tracks such as ‘Lash Out’, ‘Learn to Live’, and her most-recent single ‘Funny Business’. Throughout the album, the singer showcases her gifted vocals and storytelling lyrics, which give the tracks a youthful and unique feel.
‘Mint’ touches upon subjects like female empowerment, insecurities, and independence in a way that makes you feel like Alice is talking directly to you. When she sings, she tells a story and invites the listener into her world in a way only few artists manage to do.
Alice Merton doesn’t just empower people through her songs, she also has a go-getter attitude that inspires her fans to stand up for themselves and be independent. When record labels and radio stations scoffed at her, Alice decided to take matters into her own hands and founded Paper Plane Records International with her best friend and manager Paul Grauwinkel, while studying at University of Popular Music and Music Business. Trusting her own talent proved to be a wise decision and her self-released debut single ‘No Roots’ is now certified Platinum in seven countries, reached the Top 10 single charts in 10 countries and recently went gold in the US.
Following the release of ‘Mint’, Alice is now ready to go on her European tour in March, where fans can expect to experience fun shows filled with songs from her debut album.
Although we’ve just been spoiled with 11 fantastic tracks, we’re already beyond excited to see what the future holds for Alice Merton.
‘Mint’ is now available on iTunes and Spotify. Tickets for her upcoming tour can be found here.
