    Alicia Keys To Perform At Champions League Final

    Singing superstar Alicia Keys will become the first singer ever to perform at the opening ceremony of the Champions League final.

    The special concert will see Alicia performing to an audience of 80,000 people at Milan’s Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, and to millions of fans around the world, as the final will be shown in 220 countries.

    Keys, who will be dubuting new music during her show at the opening ceremony said that performing to such a massive audience was “pretty insane“.

    European football’s governing body Uefa said the inclusion of Alicia Keys “heightens even further the appeal of the match“.

    The Voice US coach spoke of her excitement at returning to Italy, saying: “My mother’s family is from Italy, so whenever I go, I always feel loved. I feel like it’s a homecoming of love in a lot of ways“.

    Uefa said of the introduction of live music to the Champions League final; “we intend to merge the worlds of world-class music, entertainment and sports, as well as celebrate design and fashion as a nod to the host city, Milan“.

    Speaking about the exciting new venture to mix music, entertainment, fashion and sport, Alicia said: “this is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are”.

    Keys also added: “I’m honoured to be a special part of such a beloved experience”.

    You will be able to watch Alicia Keys’ live performance during the opening ceremony of the Champions League, on May 28th.
