San Diego Comic Con is here which means we’re all running strictly off of coffee and wearing sun glasses big enough to hide the dark circles underneath our eyes. It’s a busy week in the pop culture realm, even in the days before the con officially kicks off, but it’s what makes the event so big and so one of a kind.
For AMC, this year is an exciting one (aren’t they all?) but with The Walking Dead opening a new season in October where an ‘all out war’ is rising and Fear The Walking Dead having some of its best feedback and highest ratings in the series history – there’s a lot of attention from around the world focused on them right now.
So much so that on YouTube early Wednesday, an add for The Walking Dead was seen by a few convention attendees and it showed an intense photo with a premiere date for the season.
Hours later, AMC released the official statement with the exclusive Comic Con art and the premiere date being solidified. There’s not much longer to wait now. Season 8 will begin on October 22nd.
The poster shows an intense stare down and a definite sense of the big divide. It’s still heart wrenching to see Eugene on team Negan, but we have a feeling that season 8 is going to bring about some big changes, and some of those changes might give people safety outside of the Saviors. Maybe there’s hope for him yet.
What are you most excited to see in season 8 of The Walking Dead? Will you be binge watching the series before October 22nd? Let us know.
