The American Music Awards (AMAs) will take place in Los Angeles on November 20th and the nominees have just been announced.
Drake leads the AMA nominations this year with a record-breaking 13 nominations. This breaks Micheal Jackson’s record of 11 nominations from 1984 and is over double the number of nominations that last year’s leader Taylor Swift received. Rihanna is in second place with 7 nominations and Adele and Justin Bieber take joint third with 5 nominations each.
Also, there are some ‘new kids on the block’ receiving their first American Music Awards nomination. This includes The Chainsmokers, DNCE and Twenty One Pilots.
