The first known example of a special relationship between a dog and a blind person was depicted in a first-century AD mural in the ruins of Roman Herculaneum.

The Guide Dogs story started in 1931 with two amazing British pioneers, Muriel Crooke and Rosamund Bond. These remarkable women organised the training of the first four British guide dogs from a humble lock up garage in Wallasey, Merseyside.

Ant and Dec joined the campaign to raise awareness and funds by meeting their canine counterparts.

The Pups to Partnerships appeal highlights the charity’s long term work training puppies to become guide dogs to help those living with sight loss. The campaign is looking to fund seven guide dogs from “birth to retirement” and is hoping to raise £420,000 in a month.

Harry Styles Mum Anne Twist has also supported the charity on her social media, Anne encouraged her followers to sponsor a Guide Dog, as she has.

The Dog Anne sponsored is called Joy, Joy is now at her forever home with her new owner Shelia.
