Ant and Dec are to host coverage of the Queens 90th birthday celebrations.
Ant (Anthony McPartlin) and Dec (Declan Donnelly) will host ITV’s coverage of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebration at Windsor Castle.
The Britains Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway hosts were chosen following the success of their 90-minute documentary on the Prince’s Trust, earlier this year, which was considered a huge success by both ITV and by the Royal family.
They will be presenting live coverage of the event at Windsor Castle. The Royal Windsor Horse show will feature over 900 horses as well over 1500 riders. Among the performers will be the Oman Royal Cavalry, Chilean Huasos, the New Zealand Army Band, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Azerbaijan Cossack Riders, State Carriages from the Royal Mews, the South Australian Police Band, The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, the Fijian Army Dancers and Band, 100 Military and Commonwealth Pipers and the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.
The Queen will be attending the event, which will tell the story of her life, from her birth in 1926, through the Second World War to her Coronation and record-breaking reign.
Elaine Bedell from ITV said:
“We are delighted to be celebrating The Queen’s 90th Birthday with this stunning evening of entertainment,”“With Ant and Dec hosting this special event, viewers will get to enjoy the very best of British talent along side some remarkable performers in celebration of the Queen’s landmark birthday.”
The event is set to take place in May.
