Ariana Grande, widely known for her graceful vocals and brilliant stage presence, has called out a sexist fan for their slut-shaming comments about Dangerous Woman music video.

The incident took place on Facebook, where a fan commented inappropriately about the songstress in the music video. Ariana, who has always been quick to call out all kinds of judgmental people, instantly snapped at the fan. She commented on why it is never wrong for a woman to show skin.

In the comment she wrote, “when will people stop being offended by women showing skin / expressing sexuality ? Men take their shirts off / express their sexuality on stage, in videos, on instagram, anywhere they want too… all. the. time.”

The 22-year old singer then threw light on the double standards, stating “the double standard is so boring and exhausting.” She concluded her rant with a sassy “with all due respect, I think it’s time you get your head out of your ass”.

It’s not the first time the star has spoken against sexism in the music industry. In October last year, Ariana called out some DJs for their sexist questions, stating they “need a little brushing up on equality“. The songstress was also appreciated for speaking out about body image after a commenter pitied her against Ariel Winter.

We appreciate Ariana for using her status as a public figure to speak out for what is important and needed to be talked upon. In an industry where there is no lack of sexist elements, we need more people like Ariana Grande that have the courage to stand up against what is wrong.
