Ariana Grande has officially been announced as Billboard’s Woman of the Year, proving yet again that ‘God is a Woman,’ and will attend the awards gala in New York on Dec. 6.
She will be officially presented with this award at the 13th annual Women in Music dinner and awards gala.
After the success of her album Sweetener and her chart-topping hits of 2018, in addition to taking over headlines since the beginning of this year, it is no surprise that Grande is being given this title.
Life has not slowed in the slightest for the singer despite her immense success in the past. Grande has been breaking streaming records and winning countless awards throughout her career, but 2018 may arguably be her best year as an artist and woman in the media yet. Although she has been through a lot this year, including the death of her ex-boyfriend and lifetime friend Mac Miller, she continues to keep going and stay inspired through activism and her music. Grande even admitted to Billboard that she has no regrets.
“I got myself to a place where I would be able to do things like drop a surprise record and have it be the biggest single I’ve ever had,” Grande explained to Billboard about her latest single ‘Thank U, Next.
“When life tries you with such serious sht so many times, your priorities change. I don’t give a sht. I just want to be happy and healthy — one day — and make music,” the singer added.
The Women in Music event will be available to be streamed via Twitter, including the red carpet, on Twitter from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. EST.
