It’s here! MTV has finally released the nominations for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), which are due to take place on 3 November in Seville, Spain.
Leading the nominations is pop superstar Ariana Grande, with a total of seven, including Best Artist and Best Song (for “7 rings”).
Also up for six noms are new artists Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X. Both have had an incredible start to their career in 2019, so we expect them to win big on the night! Both acts are also nominated in the Best New Artist category, alongside Lizzo, Mabel, Lewis Capaldi, and Ava Max – so expect some tough competition.
Shawn Mendes has also managed to bag six nominations, including Best Pop and Best Collaboration (for his smash hit “Senorita” with Camila Cabello).

So far, performers and a host for the award ceremony have yet to be confirmed, although MTV has announced on Twitter that they are taking suggestions for host ideas – and they want the fans to give whoever the host may be questions to answer.
“We’re looking for our new #MTVEMA host and we want to know what questions you’d ask them! Let us know in the comments below!” they tweeted on Oct. 2.
