Less than two weeks after dropping her hit single, “7 Rings,” Ariana Grande has now released a remix of the track featuring 2 Chainz.
The singer announced the collaboration only hours before dropping the track. On Twitter, she tagged the rapper and wrote “tonight” along with an emoji of a diamond ring. Fans immediately guessed that 2 Chainz would be featured on a remix of the single, and at 12 AM ET, their theory proved to be true.
The surprise collaboration comes after internet users noticed the similarities between Grande’s “7 Rings” music video and 2 Chainz’s Pink Trap House concept from his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music album. 2 Chainz even posted about the similarities on his Instagram.
Despite this, it looks like the two artists are on good terms! Ariana wrote on Twitter that she “made a new friend,” and even drew inspiration from the remix’s cover art from both the rapper’s Pink Trap House and her luxurious pink house from the “7 Rings” music video.
