Tale as old as time, true as it can be. Two talents unite as one, to show how a duet is done, beautifully.
AMA’s Artist of the Year Ariana Grande and Oscar winner John Legend are teaming up to sing the Beauty and the Beast theme song for Disney’s upcoming remake of the 1991 animated film that will star Emma Watson.
Beauty and the Beast, originally recorded by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson was a complete hit. The title track won an Academy Award, Golden Globe and two Grammy Awards. We have a strong feeling that Grande and Legend’s spin on the classic song will be just as much of a smash!
On Wednesday, Grande took to Instagram to share that she was in the studio recording. The “Into You” singer captioned the image with a wilting rose emoji, symbolizing the film’s Enchanted Rose.

Legend responded to Ariana’s selfie with one himself, also working in the studio.

The song’s producer, Ron Fair confirmed the epic collaboration in an official statement to ABC.
“Stepping into the shoes of an Oscar and Grammy Award-winning classic is not small potatoes,” he admitted. “But with today’s two greatest plutonium singers — John Legend and Ariana Grande — we are bringing the song back with a new school-old school fresh treatment that shows the soulfulness and power of what a great melody and lyric can inspire.”
Disney’s newest rendition of “Beauty and the Beast” will hit theaters on March 17, while the soundtrack will arrive March 10.
