Ariana Grande has debuted at number one for the second time on the UK Albums Chart with her latest release, Sweetener.
Knocking the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again soundtrack from the top spot, Ariana racked up 45,000 sales. In the process, Sweetener is this week’s biggest selling album across physical sales, downloads, streams and cassette.
Sweetener is Ariana’s second number one album in the UK, following on from her 2016 release Dangerous Woman.
Speaking about her latest chart success, Ariana told OfficialCharts.com: “Thank you so much! I’m so grateful! I can’t tell you how appreciative I am. I can’t wait to see you in September ;)”.
Three of the album tracks are currently in the singles chart: the silver-certified ‘God Is A Woman’ at number 6, ‘Breathin’ at 8 and ‘Sweetener’ at number 22.
Ariana will be returning to the UK in September and among the confirmed promo is a Live Lounge performance on Radio 1 on September 5. Capital FM has also tweeted that ‘something sweet is coming’ on Tuesday. Additionally, it has been hinted that Ariana will host a Sweetener Session in London.
