Ieva Zasimauskaite is a singer-songwriter from Lithuania who lives in one of the largest cities in the country, Kaunas. She has had a passion for music since she was a young girl, learning piano from the age of seven and participating in various vocal groups and choirs. At sixteen she took part in a TV show called Choru karai (Clash of the Choirs) as part of the Kaunas choir. Ieva’s choir won the contest and consequently toured throughout Lithuania over the next three years.

As well as this, Ieva competed in Lietuvos balsas (the Lithuanian version of The Voice) in 2012, reaching the final and finishing in second place. She then went on to study at the International School of Law and Business in Vilnius, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management.

Earlier this year, Ieva participated in Eurovizijos dainu konkurso nacionaline atranka – her countries national selection show to choose a representative for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Ieva is no stranger to the contest, having tried to represent Lithuania on four previous occasions. After weeks of competition including weekly heats, Ieva won this year’s competition with her song “When We’re Old” and will be representing Lithuania in Lisbon next month at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
