Laura Marano stars as the lead “Ally” in the international hit Disney Channel television series “Austin and Ally. This multi-talented star is well on her way to becoming Disney’s next breakout and role model for teens everywhere. At the 2015 Kids Choice Awards, Marano won Best Actress on TV for her role on “Austin & Ally” and the show won for Best TV Comedy. Recently, her role garnered her Teen Choice Nominations for Choice Summer TV Star Female and Choice TV Chemistry.
Apart from acting, Laura is a role model for teens everywhere as the face of prominent national campaigns such as UNICEF’s 2013 Trick or Treat Ambassador campaign, where she joined the exclusive the ranks of previous ambassadors: Heidi Klum, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Selena Gomez. In addition to her work with UNICEF, she is working closely with the Humane Society of The United
States as the face of the Meatless Mondays campaign and this summer, DoSomething.org and Sprint have partnered with Laura for a hands-on campaign called Thumb Wars that will literally save lives.
When she is not on set, she enjoys school, soccer, piano, tap dancing and singing. Her favorite thing to do is to read books. She loves to travel and has made three trips to Italy, where she and her sister learned to play the card game Scopa. Marano also has a penchant for songwriting, which is one of the reasons why she gravitated to the role of “Ally,” and she has written over 100 songs. Currently, she is recording her music and recently signed with Scott Borchetta at Big Machine Records. Big Machine is home to Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Florida Georgia Line and many more.
Marano lives with her parents and her dog Velvet in the Los Angeles area.
