Can you believe that it has been nine years since we last had new music from Ashley Tisdale?! Not that we’ve been counting or anything… But we’ve definitely been counting. It’s been so long, but the singer and actress finally broke the spell and made a return to music on Thursday with wait for it, a brand spanking new single!

The track which is titled, “Voices In My Head,” dropped on 8th November, and we’re not ashamed to say that we’ve had it on repeat ever since.

Ashley Tisdale "Voices In My Head"

Sharpay Evans- sorry, we mean Ashley Tisdale, first announced her big return to music a few weeks ago by taking to her social media accounts to reveal the title of the new release. “Voices In My Head 11.8.2018 #SYMPTOMS,” she wrote. And needless to say her fans went into meltdown.

But as exciting as the release of, “Voices In My Head,” is, the song has a very important meaning for the, “High School Musical,” star who said that she drew inspiration for it from her battle with anxiety.

“There are so many times when I’ve been at an event, or even just a social party, and I’ve felt like I’m not good enough to be there. I feel that a lot of us struggle with that. And that negative thinking, that little voice in your head… I just felt it was important.”

“I deal with anxiety and I’ve dealt with it probably my whole life,” she told Teen Vogue. “But I became super aware of it over the last two years. If someone at home can turn it [her new music] on and not feel so alone, that’s all I can do. So I’m pretty excited about it.”

And this theme, according to Tisdale, will also run through her upcoming album, “Symptoms,” which is set to be released sometime before the end of the year, under the Big Noise label.

“Voices In My Head,” will be the lead single.

Her new album is said to have a very electro-pop sound to it, and will definitely be a lot more mature than her previous body of work. And her new track is a perfect example of what is to come with that toe-tapping beat and catchy chorus which we just can’t seem to get out of our head!

You can get, “Voices In My Head,” stuck in your head too, by listening to it here:

You can also catch the first live performance of the track at the, “Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade,” later this month when Tisdale appears on the Fantasy Chocolate Factory from Kinder float to belt it out.

Ah welcome back Ashley. We’ve missed you!
