It has been confirmed that the former JLS heartthrob turned solo star, Aston Merrygold will be the support act on Jason Derulo’s upcoming UK arena tour.

The ‘Get Stupid’ singer is currently making a name for himself as a breakout solo star, since the X Factor boyband split up.

And the huge news that he will be supporting the hip-hop sensation Jason Derulo on tour is massive.

Aston confirmed the news via his official Twitter account earlier today, tweeting: It’s OFFICIAL! I’ll be opening for @jasonderulo ‘s on his UK and IRELAND arena tour! Shout out to Jason for the opportunity! It’s going off (sic).

Jason’s 21 date UK tour kicks off in Cardiff on the 24th January and ends in London on the 5th February.

Since going solo last year, Aston Merrygold has had a UK top 40 hit with his debut, funk inspired solo single ‘Get Stupid’, the song was also a massive top ten hit in Australia.

Unfortunately there is still no sign of the popstar’s first solo album, but with the news of his tour support role, hopefully the singer will soon be releasing information regarding the LP.
