Audra Mclaughlin is a Nashville-based country artist who has graced the stage as a finalist on The Voice and performer for the NFL. Her new song “Sad song and a Cowboy” takes a look at a fleeting romance in retrospect and highlights the mistakes we make with rose-tinted lenses.
“Sad song and a Cowboy” features windswept acoustic strings, restless percussion that rolls like a tumbleweed, and a soulful vocal that brushes over the scars of heartbreak. The music video captures intimate memories of a cowboy wandering through a thrift shop, watching horses run through a field, and gingerly smiling at the camera as if we’re reliving Mclaughlin’s experience. Audra Mclaughlin is an acclaimed country artist and former finalist on The Voice as a member of Blake Shelton’s team. In 2017, she found out she had a cyst on her vocal chord and underwent vocal surgery and rehabilitation. After her recovery, she moved to Nashville where she still remains today.
